As it no longer meets the needs of its current requirements, the Royal Military Academy was due to undergo renovation to modernise and reorganise it. This includes the refurbishment of the existing buildings mainly intended for academic uses, as well as the construction of new buildings intended for use as accommodation, for social and sports activities, as well as academic functions. These new buildings have the effect of restructuring the site, giving it a coherence and homogeneity. The overall project entails the establishment of a modern architectural vocabulary that respects the historical vocabulary already in place, and this conveys a strong and cohesive image for the Academy.

The ambiance of the exterior spaces is extremely important and is directly linked to the quality of life at the site. Its many green spaces have been developed in an English style and are open to the exterior. The new entrance creates a lateral axis of circulation, which enables the site to be divided into two distinct zones: the academic zone (classrooms - laboratory - library - etc.) and the logistics zone (accommodation - mess - infirmary - sports hall - etc.).
